Drawing from my observations, readings, and conversations with those knowledgeable in the judiciary, I began crafting stories about judges, not just their rulings, but their personal lives, their family histories, and the unseen forces that shape their decisions, their fates, even their endings and downfall.
Set in the 1990s, The Silk Robe captures the lives of judges navigating a judicial system defined by power, tradition, and personal ambition. Judges are morally complex figures in the story. Many step onto the stage of the judicial system, shaping its world in ways the public can scarcely imagine. It explores how history shifts, or in some ways, remains unchanged.
As a fiction writer, an observer of human nature, I recognize the unique and vital influence of women judges in shaping the judicial landscape. No matter the profession, no matter how dark the environment may be, I believe there will always be courageous hearts fighting for justice, fairness, and integrity.
